NW #2 Ferris boys go to 6th man to top NW #3 North Central in combined district

Highlights
- Ben Johnston (North Central sr) ran 15:23 to win 3A district as well as the entire race; Allan Schroeder (Mt. Spokane sr) was the runner-up in 15:41 with the first 4A finisher Andrew Gardner (Mead fr) third in 15:46
- Mead junior Baylee Mires was the first finisher overall, claiming the 4A District title in 18:08 and advancing to state as an individual; Kendra Weitz (Shadle Park fr) finished second in 18:11 but earned top honors in the 3A competition
- 3A: NW #4 Shadle Park girls scored 20 points to beat out Mt. Spokane 60; North Central won the team title with 25 points over Mt Spokane 49
- 4A: NW bubble team Central Valley girls topped Mead 45 to 61; Ferris girls took first with 33 points over Lewis & Clark 64
- NW #2 ranked Ferris boys beat NW #3, 2008 NXN champs North Central in a sixth man tiebreaker, and although the two won't face off directly at the state level the Nike NW Regional qualifier will be a major proving ground for these two teams
